Our journey consisted of eleven people from North America’s Jewish community who flew to Port-au-Prince (PAP), Haiti on Monday, July 5, 2010 for two days.
Port-Au-Prince is 681 miles from Miami and just a 3.5-hour flight from New York City and a 2 hour flight from Miami.

Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince serves as the main international gateway of the country.
We were greeted by local musicians who created an uplifting mood for our arrival.
Due to the close proximity to the earthquake, Toussaint Louverture International Airport was damaged including seriously damaging the control tower. It is functioning but with severe limits.

A former cargo hangar is used for Immigration and Customs since that portion of the airport received damage and is still inoperable.
